Dr. Lee will host this session about ways to contribute to landscape architecture scholarship, primarily as an author. They are particularly interested in mentoring submissions from faculty members on new and exciting ideas related to the design, planning, and management of the landscape. In particular, the editor is interested in scholarship related to teaching/learning as well as the intersection of practice and research. Participants will be able to share their own experiences in peer-reviewed publishing, and strategies they have found helpful. The editor will share his vision in discussing the Journal’s future scope and mission.
In this session, participants will learn:
* Landscape Journal: A brief history and periods
* Different article types considered by Landscape Journal
* How to structure your article to make the most convincing presentation
* The basic peer-reviewed process: The participants and roles
* Article submission and review process: What editors and peer-reviewers are looking for in a submission at each stage
* Common mistakes and how to avoid them in a submission
